The design of this furniture system was inspired by a spicy, 1950’s, instrumental, jazz piece with somewhat disturbing abstract underlay. The furniture gives acknowledgment to this play between the whimsical and unexpected.
The main piece of furniture consists of two chairs connected back to back. The curved components were designed with respect to the radius measured from the centerpoint of the back of the double chair to the end of the seat. When assembled, the system seems to “dance” or glide through a space. The pieces may be arranged in several ways allowing for a variety of shapes and accommodating many uses.
This seating element best suits a bar or hotel/lounge environment -- larger spaces where visitors enter or depart at varying times.
